Roomful of Teeth

ROOMFUL OF TEETH

Roomful of Teeth is a two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning genre-defying vocal group that explores and celebrates the potential of the human voice through adventurous music creation, performance, recording and education. By engaging collaboratively with composers, students and audiences from around the world, we seek to uplift and amplify all voices while creating and performing meaningful and adventurous music.

Founded in 2009 by Brad Wells, the group was incubated at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA) in North Adams, Massachusetts, where members studied with some of the world’s most extraordinary singers and teachers. Through experimentation and exploration the group learned that the boundaries of the human voice are never what they seem, that rules can be bent, even broken, and perhaps they should be.

Through our unique collaborative process, Roomful of Teeth has worked with many of today’s most compelling musical creators to build a significant and continuously growing repertoire of more than 100 new works. We have collaborated with a wide range of artists and ensembles spanning genres and art forms.

Roomful of Teeth maintains an active international touring schedule with recent appearances at Carnegie Hall, Paris Philharmonie, San Francisco Performances, New York Philharmonic, Walt Disney Concert Hall, King’s Place in London, the Barbican, and many others.

As the world rapidly changes, Roomful of Teeth is cultivating deeper relationships with technology, continuing to explore and expand the artistic reach of the human voice. We are excited about new collaborative projects that both celebrate diversity and shine a light on underrepresented cultures to represent a beautiful spectrum of musical styles and viewpoints. We explore, learn, and collaborate with passionate curiosity, contagious enthusiasm, and deep gratitude.
